Punteado
Olinalá, Guerrero

"Punteado" is an ancient technique originating in Olinalá that consists of applying fine colored dots in high relief on a handmade lacquer made from minerals such as toctetl, calcite, and tecoxtle, mixed with natural chia or linseed oils.
Each dot is placed one by one with traditional tools such as turkey feathers or metal nails, creating figures, symbols and patterns with great precision.

Natural pigments come from elements such as oak bark, garlic cloves, and charcoal.
The process includes several stages: smearing and polishing the base with stones such as agate, scratching the design, applying multicolored dots, outlining, gilding with artisanal oil, and finally a layer of acrylic gloss that protects each piece.

Each dotted piece reflects hours of dedication, cultural identity, and a deep connection to the land.

We create partnerships with companies and manage projects that collectively impact artisan groups in Mexico.
