GUAJES

The gourds are decorated in a traditional and native way, with vegetable paints that the artisans produce (chia oil, tecoxtle, calcite, quartz, limestone and natural pigments).

Preserving pre-Hispanic art, they make their brushes with deer tails and turkey feathers and use maque technique to decorate these objects, giving shape to mythical and traditional figures and colors of Mexico.

The Temalacatzingo gourds are a hallmark of this Nahuatl region and a symbol of conservation of cultural heritage.
